-----------------------MINUTES ---------------------------
Mike LaBonte conducted the meeting.

Call for opens and IBIS related patent disclosures:

- None

AR Review:

- Mike ask Lance if he can repeat his correlation presentation
  - Done
  - Lance has agreed, but can not join us today

- Mike check on IEEE FSV status
  - No reply yet from Bruce Archambeault
  - Bob: It is not very useful to us
    - The tool doesn't work well
    - The bucketing is arbitrary
    - It is hard to relate numeric results to the visual
    - It is not for us to promote FSV or create tools for it
    - Vendors might do this, and they will promote it
  - We agreed to consider this AR closed

- Mike ask Anders about his level of interest in External Test
  - Anders is interested but his time is very limited

New items:

Mike: Our expressed priorities:
- Mike: Correlation is high on my list
  - Eckhard has said the AMI checklist is important
  - Anders is interested in external test
- Bob: Lance also likes external test
  - I also like the checklist

Bob described IBIS parser changes:
- Bob: There are now at least 30 parser test cases
  - Most of the changes are in AMI
  - IBIS 5.1 is not yet voted, but the parser is mostly ready
- Mike: Will there be another 5.0 parser?
- Bob: No
  - We will handle deprecation more rigorously from now on
  - For 5.1 (AMI_Version x) is required and must be first
  - There are no 5.1 models yet
  - Omitting AMI_version implies a IBIS 5.0 model
- Mike: Older tools should be able to ignore (AMI_version 5.0)
- Bob: The parser will call that an error
  - BUG 131 will be fixed
    - This is about Table type in Reserved_Parameters
    - The bug report itself has an error
  - There are some rules about order of items
    - AMI_version has to be first
- Mike: There should be no order requirements for AMI syntax
- Bob: Also Reserved_Parameters has to be first in 5.1
- Mike: It's easy to read in LISP-like files and check context after that
- Bob: For example you need to know the Labels before read a table

- Mike: A summit presentation on how to use parser code would good
  - Snippets of code would have to be shown
  - It might be interesting, and somewhat a sales pitch
- Bob: We would have to find someone who knows the code well
  - It might be too technical for a summit
  - We have added error code numbers but that adds complexity
- Mike: An application developer should be able to ignore the checker part
  - IBISCHK should be written as a example parser application
  - Currently it is more integrated than that
- Bob: The checker is very exhaustive
  - The code is C, not C++
  - Lex and yacc may have been used
  - This might not be a good topic for an Asia summit
  - Only Fujitsu might have bought the code there

Mike: How can be make progress on the AMI checklist?
- Eckhard: I presented on this in Naples
  - Only about a two page checklist is needed
  - Short descriptions should be on the pages
  - It could be similar to Greg's list, which was too close to Opal
- Mike: The one line descriptions on Greg's list were hard to understand
- Eckhard: Good, simple checks can be described in two lines
- Bob: Eckhard could repeat the Naples presentation

Next meetings:
- Next meetings Sep 4 and Sep 18

- Meeting ended at 12:02 ET
